SARS Payment Changes

SARS has changed their payment system as from 01 October 2013. No longer are we able to use the “debit pull” function on SARS e-filing.
The only payment options are as follows:

1. Credit Push

We can still load payments on e-filing using the “credit push” function. This requires you to be registered at your Bank for this facility. We load payment on e-filing and then you are required to authorize the payment by logging onto your Internet Banking. This must be done on the same day that payment is loaded. If payment authorization is not completed, the payment will be late and penalty and interest incurred. If this option is used, VAT is payable on the last business day of the month.

2. Cheque Payments

(a) At Sars

The cheque must be made out to “South African Revenue Service”. Cheque for VAT and PAYE are limited to R100 000. Cheque for Income tax, Provisional tax and Dividend tax are limited to R500 000 per cheque. Please send us proof of payment for our records.

(b) At the Bank

The cheque must be made out to “South African Revenue Service”. Cheque for any tax is limited to R500 000 per cheque. Please send us proof of payment for our records.

3. Electronic Payment (EFT)

You must log on to your Internet Banking to make payment this way. For every payment there will be a specific payment reference number and tax type that must be selected. We are able to assist you with this information. Correct payment reference number is vital as this will affect the allocation of the payment to the relevant tax type. If this option is used, VAT is payable on the 25th (or last business day before the 25th) of the month. Please send us proof of payment for our records.

Do not hesitate to contact us should you have any queries in this regard.
